honouring the hardened
2026
born with soil beneath his fingernails and the sea in his bones, knut ingar nalum is part of something far older than himself. traditions of craftsmanship have taken root throughout his life and exist as part of nearly everything he touches. as the owner of a nearly hundered year old fishing vessel, a trained carpenter and the descendant of generations of farmers, is he keeping old traditions alive. the work is demanding, thankless and at times costly. so costly, in fact, that it would one day come to cost him four of his fingers.
yet, knut ingar spends his waking hours with unmistakable joy amongst the tomato plants in the warmest corners of the greenhouse, or in the crooked bow of the formerly serving supply boat he acquired in his twenties. it is here that tradition is anchored, and the joy of preserving it continues to grow.
